Skarls Sword

$349.99

Product Description

Handed down from king to king throughout the history of Meridell. The Skarls Sword is obtained in a similar manner to the MSPP TCG, that is by redeeming base set tcg codes. However, this sword was much more rarer to obtain than the mspp, which is why the price reflects!

This is a bit expensive, but its icons are phenomenal, as mass light is definitely rare, only seen in weapons like Pumpkin Stick and Glittery Faerie Dust. The combination of light and dark is a good against burrow. It gets around 10 icons past Ghostkershield, which isn’t too shabby, and destroys Faerie Tabard, which is awesome seeing as these are the two most-common high-level shields seen.

The 100% light defense is a nice touch, but not super useful, IMO.

Power (4/4) This would be a 4 even without the defense.

Price (2/2) On the scale of ultimate neopian weapons, 300 million is only half the cost of the other options, making this a relative steal.

Tactical (3/3) There are only about a half dozen weapons in neopia that can beat this in a head to head match-up, and some of those are unique items.

Another Angle (1/1) The once I thought I was going to be facing one of these and adjusted my usually light-heavy set to deal with it, I found my opponent had sold the day before.

Note: Supposedly this is a code-redemption prize from an early TCG set, but which one has never been confirmed.

Alternatives/Upgrades: For damage Ghostkersword and Faerie Slingshot are a lot cheaper. For ultimate light defense weapons, there’s also Wand of the Dark Faerie.

Defenses/Countermeasures: Super Attack Pea, Wand of the Dark Faerie, Darigan Sword of Death and Lord Darigans Blade will beat this in head to head. Illusens Staff can come out ahead, depending on relative str boosts for reflection and if the healing is active. Kings Lens is viable in conjunction with a physical blocker. But for us mere mortals it’s worth noting that Jhudoras Bewitched Ring comes out exactly even against this.

This is the second best constant for 2p.

This Beats every weapon head to head except for SuAP.

light and dark icons are pretty hard to block at this level and as cranberry mentioned it gets a good amount of icons through a lot of different shields.

Apparently these actually exist. Still no word on where they come from, though. The icons are FANTASTIC (it’s so hard to block light AND dark at the level this would be used unless you also have one of these) and the light defense is phenomenal. It’s too bad about the price, but I suppose there wouldn’t really be much point to the BD if too many of these were floating around. I would definitely take one of these over the weaker two in the Pea series because of the light defense and general unblockability.

This sword is awesome. At the high end of its attack, it deals one more icon than Sword of Skardsen and Pirate Captains Cutlass can — out of the big swords, only Ghostkersword can hit harder. It gets 15 icons through burrow, up to 20 through Faerie Tabard, and up to 12 through Ghostkershield, but is entirely blocked by sink. What really sets it apart is the full light blocking, useful against the aforementioned PCC, the Faerie Slingshot and the Seasonal Attack Pea. Unfortunately, this is one costly and hard-to-find sword. I’d rate it higher if there were a few more of them out there.
