Neoquest is an adventure game in Neopia where you play as a hero battling through various levels, completing quests, and defeating powerful bosses. Here’s an overview of the key points, starting tips, and boss strategies for the game:
Storyline Overview
The story takes place in ancient Neopia, where magic is real, and a group of good magicians known as the Circle of Twelve once existed. The story follows Jahbal, who is driven mad by his power and begins wreaking havoc, turning many Neopians into monsters. After being driven to a tower, Jahbal continues his destruction, and the remaining magicians work to contain him with a magic barrier. However, Jahbal’s magic escapes, causing devastation across the land. The hero (you) eventually defeats Jahbal, only to discover that the true mastermind behind the destruction is the evil magician Xantan.
Game Walkthrough
Starting the Game
- Choose your wand: The type of wand doesn’t matter much as they have similar effects.
- Choose your skills: You have five types of magic to choose from:
- Fire and Ice: Deal damage but aren’t very impactful in the long run.
- Shock and Spectral: Both great for stuns, absorbing damage, and gaining more turns.
- Life: Heals you and is an essential skill to focus on.
Game Modes:
- You must first play through Normal mode before unlocking Evil and Insane difficulties. Be aware that the difficulty increases as you progress, and in Insane mode, you must start over from Level 1 if you lose.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
- The Dank Cave: Start the game in the Dank Cave and defeat your first boss, Xantan the Foul. Afterward, use the teleporter to return to the city and upgrade your armor and wand.
- The Jungle Ruins: Move to the Jungle Ruins, where you’ll fight the giant Meepits, Krei and Gors. Completing these sections will give you important upgrades for weapons and armor. The dungeon has teleporters to help you navigate through it.
- Temple of Roo: Continue through the swamp and desert, collecting keys from unique monsters to unlock new rooms. You’ll fight various Ghastly enemies and ultimately face the Archmagus of Roo.
- Techo Caves: This area is large and a bit repetitive. Fight your way through, upgrade your armor with Mr. Irgo, and enter Sunny City for additional items.
- Kal Panning: Once you reach Kal Panning, you’ll face more intense battles, including Faellin and others. Defeat them to progress to the Two Rings, where the final battle awaits.
